Nekupe Sporting Resort and Retreat

Resort - Luxury All-inclusive - Personalized Service - Michelin Inspired Meals

Description:

Nekupe Sporting Resort & Retreat is a 2,400-acre nature reserve in Nicaragua’s Pacific country that offers opportunities for stimulating your mind, body, and soul. It was Don Alfredo Jr.’s vision and Dona Theresa Pelas, avid adventurers and travelers, who created it. The resort’s core principles of conservation and stewardship of nature are a testament to their commitment to the environment.

Nekupe is found in Nandaime, the “place with abundant streams”. It is 1.5 hours from the Augusto C. Sandino International Airport, Managua. It is also 30 minutes from Granada, a charming colonial town, and just over an hour from California’s Pacific Coast.

Nekupe houses an animal sanctuary with more than 158 species of plants, including more than 100,000 trees that were planted throughout the reserve. The reservoirs were created by ecologists and local experts. They provide habitat for wildlife and fauna. The sobering aura of the grounds serves as a backdrop for a variety of recreational activities and nature appreciation.

Nekupe offers a seamless confluence of sustainable nature-based design with Feng Shui inspiration, rich Nicaraguan culture and warm hospitality, nurturing exploration, adventure, wellbeing and peace. Horseback riding, mountaintop yoga and skeet shooting are some of the options.

About Managua

Managua (Spanish pronunciation: [maˈnaɣwa]) is the capital and largest city of Nicaragua, and the center of an eponymous department. Located on the southwestern shore of Lake Managua and inside the Managua Department, it has an estimated population of 1,055,247 in 2020 within the city's administrative limits and a population of 1,401,687 in the metropolitan area, which additionally includes the municipalities of Ciudad Sandino, El Crucero, Nindirí, Ticuantepe and Tipitapa. The city was declared the national capital in 1852. Previously, the capital alternated between the cities of León and Granada. The 1972 Nicaragua earthquake and years of civil war in the 1980s severely disrupted and stunted Managua's growth. == Etymology == There are two possible origins for the name "Managua".
